From celebrated classics to new traditions, the Dallas-area is full of holiday magic and cheer. Here are some of the hottest events of the season.

Holidays at the Heard – Dec. 15-16, 2017

The Heard Museum has decked the halls and donned its merry apparel, and you’re invited to come see it! For two nights, guests can explore the beautiful nature trail, which has been adorned with twinkling lights and other décor for the upcoming holiday, and listen to live music performed by local musicians.

Father Christmas and Mother Nature will also be in attendance, so don’t forget to bring your camera for photos! Also, we recommend packing extra pocket money for hot cocoa and other treats.

The 12 Days of Christmas – Open through Dec. 30, 2017

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me a ticket to the Dallas Arboretum!

Described as one of “The South’s Best Holiday Experiences” by Southern Living Magazine, the 12 Days of Christmas exhibit definitely lives up to the hype. Each gazebo is designed to represent a different day from the beloved carol, from “Partridge in a Pear Tree” to “12 Drummers Drumming.” Lights, music and costumed animatronics are all used to bring the magic to life, so don’t miss out!

Enchant Christmas at Globe Life Park – Open through Dec. 31, 2017

Did you know that the world’s largest holiday light maze is just a short sleigh ride away? For the first time ever, Enchant Christmas comes to life here in North Texas, making things a little more merry and bright—literally! Over two million lights are used in the creation of this winter wonderland.

In addition to wandering the maze, guests will enjoy delicious food, live music and entertainment, ice-skating, a Christmas marketplace and visits with Santa Claus. Tickets are selling out quick, so be sure to secure yours soon!

Dallas Zoo Lights – Open through Jan. 2, 2017

Get a little wild this holiday season at the first-ever Dallas Zoo Lights! For 33 nights, our beloved zoo glitters and gleams with the help of over one million lights.

While you’re ooh-ing and aah-ing at the gorgeous overhead displays and 3-D decorations, you can indulge in cookies, s’mores, gourmet donuts and hot chocolate (spiked for the adults). A variety of other activates will be taking place on select nights, so be sure to check the schedule before you head out!

Holiday Wonder at Fair Park – Open through Jan. 7, 2018

Let it snow? More like let it glow! Holiday Wonder is another new, must-see holiday event taking place in Dallas! The Fair Park Lagoon lights up with gorgeous Chinese lanterns of various colors and shapes. From penguins and polar bears to snowflakes, Christmas trees and Santa Claus himself, there are plenty of dazzling displays to feast your eyes on here!

After touring the displays, visitors of all ages can sled down the two-story Arctic slide, throw some snowballs, dance to live music and watch an acrobatics show.
