The new 2015 Volvo XC90 has received a full redesign, and while its exterior and under-the-hood changes are impressive, Jalopnik writer Máté Petrány can't stop raving about its elegant new cabin, which he called "pure sex" and compared to "a stylish Scandinavian living room with seven canopies and a glass roof." Check out photos of the SUV's modern new interior below to see what all the hype's about!
Along with featuring Volvo's latest safety features, a more fuel-efficient powertrain and fresh new exterior styling, the second-generation 2015 XC90 also shows off a completely revamped cabin design that's been getting a lot of media attention. Inside, it introduces the Swedish automaker's new Scalable Product Architecture, which enables a wide variety of new configuration options. The platform makes more efficient use of the SUV's interior layout, providing cozy seats that can slide, recline and fold individually, as well as an increase in cabin volume. Shoppers will also love new options like third-row power seats and a child booster cushion.
Additional updates include the cabin's natural wood trim, eye-catching crystal glass gear lever, head-up display and Apple CarPlay-enabled interface, which is operated through a new tablet-like touchscreen and/or convenient steering wheel controls.
