What Should I Do If There is a Recall for my Vehicle?

Repairs and Recalls

A recall letter is not one of those constant and dreaded streams of unwanted information you receive through the mail. It is one of the most important letters that you will ever receive while owning your vehicle. Although you should not panic, a recall should be handled promptly! A delay in having a recall completed not only puts your safety and others in possible danger, but it's also very easy to forget that the recall is needed.

Crest Volvo is committed to ensuring that each recall is completed timely. When a recall letter is received, it's important that you notify us immediately to schedule an appointment. We offer many benefits to you when the recall is completed, such as providing detailed information about the recall, ensuring you that your vehicle is safe, and providing access to our technicians to gain additional information if you have mechanical questions. Additionally, if there is any information that you believe is relevant to the recall, you should not hesitate to advise us at the time the recall is being completed. Your input is welcomed and could be beneficial for the current recall or possibly even prevent future issues.

If your recall letter was forwarded from the post office due to a change of address, you should make sure the manufacturer receives your updated contact information in the event of a future recall. Lastly, be sure to retain a copy of the recall letter for your records.

Do I Have to Pay for Recall Repairs?

Diagnostics and Repairs

As mentioned above, recalls are sent for millions of vehicles each year, and every auto manufacturer is responsible for the cost of the repairs for each one. A recall not only can involve repairs, but it can also involve replacement parts, a system update, or even changing something as simple as a mislabeled sticker. You never have to pay for those costs, and you should never attempt to complete a recall on your own or have it done by a local repair shop. If there are any costs that are outside of the recall, you will be advised upfront, which means you may incur an out of pocket expense.

We're sure that you still have concerns. Crest Volvo is with you every step of the way, and we're always willing to make recommendations or provide you with feedback pertaining to the completion of your recall!
