Sweden is a magical place. At least that’s what we believe now that we've watched the beautiful and haunting tribute that Volvo just released, honoring its home country and its long, harsh winters. Titled "Vintersaga," the film is quite frankly one of the most gorgeous ads we've seen in years.

According to the automaker, “This is a tribute to Sweden when it is harshest. A thank you to the cold, darkness, wind and rain. Because without our strict Swedish conditions we had never made [sic] the cars we do.”

The ad features the Volvo XC70 traveling throughout the Swedish countryside, giving the viewer a very intimate look at this amazingly beautiful country. It's a stunning film that acts more like a dreamy music video than an ad for a car company. For American audiences, this may be one of the most in depth looks at Sweden’s terrain that they’ve ever seen - unless you’re a fan of Bergman films.

Check out the video below. If you're a Swedophile, see if you recognize the many Swedish celebrities that show up during the ad, including ice hockey legend Börje Salming, designer Carin Rodebjeer, Olympian Emma Green and rapper Timbuktu. The Volvo XC70 is now at Volvo of Dallas, so stop by today and take this phenomenal family car for a test drive.
