If you’re a lover of the amazing new Apple Watch, you’ll be very happy to learn that this innovative new tech will be coming to a Volvo near you.
The new smartwatch, as well as smartwear from other manufactures, will be integrated into the app-based Volvo On Call telematics system, which will allow drivers to check fuel levels, locate their parking spot, remotely lock and unlock their doors, and turn on climate control functions. Other functions that will be added to the new system is the ability to check your mileage and send navigation directions from your smartwatch to your car.
According to a Volvo press release, “Volvo On Call's new functionality includes wearable connectivity for devices such as the Apple Watch, a full iPad user interface, Android Wear and a unified Windows Phone app with voice control through Cortana, an intelligent assistant system, amongst others. The update, which will also see the addition of enhanced 'send-to-car' capabilities for navigation purposes, is due to be released end of June."
