For those who’ve been anxiously awaiting a new crossover sedan to finally make its way into the world, we have a happy announcement to share. This January at the Detroit Auto Show, Volvo unveiled the new Volvo S60 Cross Country, a new “crossover sedan” that is built off of the popular V60 Cross Country crossover model.
It’s an absolutely gorgeous new model that features – among other excellent amenities – a higher ride height than most sedans on the market, as well as an all-wheel drive system and a five-cylinder turbodiesel engine that rates at 250 horsepower. The car will share several similar amenities with its V60 cousin, but be on the lookout for new tech and safety equipment that make the S60 unique amongst its competitors.
"The S60 Cross Country is the sole contender in the crossover sedan segment. We have identified a clear niche in the market for a more capable sedan with rugged styling cues and a higher stance. The S60 Cross Country will appeal to people that are searching for an exciting and capable sedan, whilst enjoying the clear benefits that a crossover offers," Volvo's Alain Visser said in a statement.
The S60 Cross Country is due to arrive to Volvo of Dallas sometime this spring. Check out a few pictures below to see the new S60.
