We are excited to announce that the 2016 Volvo XC90 earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

This is the top safety rating that the IIHS gives and further demonstrates Volvo’s commitment to keeping its drivers and passengers safe. The new SUV received top ratings of “Good” and “Superior” from the Institute, thanks to the car’s myriad advanced safety features, including its terrific front-crash prevention system.

"I'll give kudos to Volvo for a number of things," said Joe Nolan, IIHS senior vice president for vehicle research. "The old XC90 aced all the crash tests as well, but without the forward-collision aspect. So now they're going above and beyond and deserve the accolades."

Volvo has repeatedly won Top Safety Pick awards for its line of cars and SUVs. And now with the automaker’s new 3X3 structure slowly taking shape, we should see even more of Volvo’s new models earning such high praise from critics and drivers alike.

Here at Volvo of Dallas, we are very proud to offer the new XC90 to our neighbors around the Dallas area. If you would like to learn more about the 2016 XC90 SUV, stop by our Volvo dealership today and take this outstanding new family car for a test drive!
