Volvo once again lives up to its reputation as a leader in autonomous driving technology development with the new 2017 Volvo S90. This luxury sedan is packed full of innovative safety features that you’ll have to test drive to believe.

Pilot Assist

The Volvo S90’s Pilot Assist system is one of the most advanced of its kind. Within reasonable conditions, Pilot Assist helps with steering, acceleration, deceleration and braking. The S90 is designed with high-tech cameras and radar, which gives Pilot Assist the ability to “see” lane markings, detect the speed of the vehicle ahead and more. While Pilot Assist is a driver’s aid and does not substitute for human driving, it does improve on safety!

Large Animal Detection

A pioneer of innovative safety, the Volvo S90 debuts the first-ever Large Animal Detection technology. The S90 is able to capture and process images, allowing it to distinguish an animal from a human or other object. It also can determine the size of the hazard, even from a distance. For smaller animals and road hazards, drivers will simply be warned and the brakes prepared. However, the S90 will panic-stop, as it does for pedestrians and cyclists, for any animal larger than a big dog.

Road Sign Information

From speed limits to dead-ends, the Volvo S90 can read and report back the information it sees on signs in the head-up display. With this feature, you’re a lot less likely to miss speed changes or ending lanes.

The 2017 Volvo S90 in the Dallas area is also equipped with collision mitigation, drowsy driver alert and a telematics system with optional blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Visit our dealership soon to learn more about these features!
