Swedish automaker Volvo is now a recognized and respected name in the global auto industry. Volvo has traditionally made exceptionally safe, roomy, and luxurious vehicles. Volvo is also an innovative company when it comes to performance and technology. Each year, you can expect to find some new and exciting technology and performance features in Volvo’s cars. From sheer power to alternative fuel vehicles and brand new technology, these are some of the latest updates to enjoy.

Volvo Performance Features

The Volvo XC60 Recharge is a popular plug-in hybrid SUV. This model is quick to accelerate, and it goes from 0-60 MPH in under five seconds. A turbo engine and electric motor make the Recharge efficient and add to its impressive power output of 455 horsepower and up to 523 pound-feet of torque. The V60 Cross Country handles well around turns, and it has a powerful turbo engine that produces a maximum of 247 horsepower. All-wheel drive comes with the Cross Country, and it also has an off-road driving mode. With the S90, you have several powertrain options. The B6, which is the base engine for the 2024 S90, has a mild hybrid engine that generates 295 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. You can also upgrade to the Ultimate Recharge engine with an increased power output of 455 horsepower and 523 pound-feet of torque.

Volvo Technology Features

Volvo is also a standout automaker if you’re looking for exciting new features in your next car.

This year, Volvo has equipped some of its models with Google integration, which uses Google technology to access navigation and make it easier to use the touchscreen. Some models also have a more intuitive touchscreen. Touch sensors have also been added to some models to help you use functions in the cabin more easily, including turning on interior lights and opening the moonroof. Volvo has also added a driver understanding system to some of its vehicles in 2024. This system has the capability to detect issues that may prevent the driver from safely operating the car, including driver fatigue, intoxication, and distraction. The system can then respond to prevent the driver from operating the vehicle.

Most of Volvo’s models in 2024 include lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, and semi-autonomous driving. Other models also have blind-spot detection, 360-degree cameras, and parking assist mechanisms.
