Running late to your nine o’clock meeting? Volvo’s newest update will make great use of the time spent stuck in that traffic jam. The automaker has partnered with Microsoft to add Skype for Business to all 90 Series models.

“Volvo Cars is leading the way in its recognition that the nature of work is increasingly mobile. People need to be productive from anywhere – including their cars,” said Ben Canning, Director of Product Management for Skype for Business at Microsoft. “We’re thrilled to extend modern meetings to Volvo cars.”

Fumbling around with your cellphone while driving is neither safe nor professional—you’ll either be distracted by the call or traffic. However, in the hustle and bustle of the modern world, it’s not possible or even practical to take every meeting in-office. In-vehicle Skype for Business is the solution to this problem, adding an easy-to-use function right to your new Volvo car’s central control screen.

The new feature will allow users to view their upcoming scheduled meetings and details, and enter calls in one easy click. The days of struggling with long pin codes are over! Plus, even if you don’t have any pressing meetings to attend for a few hours, the feature is a great way to brief yourself on your day.

However, the automaker isn’t stopping there. Volvo is also exploring the use of intelligent personal assistants like Microsoft’s Cortana, and how they may be integrated to further improve the driving experience and make life easier for Volvo drivers.

“Skype for Business represents another big step forward for our in-car connectivity and communication offer. With the dawn of autonomous cars we see a future where flexible in-car productivity tools will enable people to reduce time spent in the office. This is just the beginning of a completely new way of looking at how we spend time in the car,” said Anders Tylman-Mikiewicz, Vice President Consumer Connectivity Services at Volvo Car Group.
