In 2024, the Volvo XC40 will have a new powertrain, a single-motor powertrain that is combined with rear-wheel drive. The all-electric range increases to 293 miles with the addition of the new powertrain, and the XC40 Recharge has an upgraded DC charger that allows it to charge faster.

What Are the 2024 XC40 Recharge Trims & Features?

There are three trim levels available in the 2024 Volvo XC40 lineup.

The base model is called the Core. Even though it's the entry-level edition, the Core has many desirable standard features. Interior illumination is standard for a more luxurious cabin and to improve visibility when you need it. LED headlights are standard, and the base trim level has 19-inch wheels. The interior's luxurious features include heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. The seats are made of simulated leather, and the Volvo seats five people. For technology, the Core has a nine-inch touchscreen with a Google operating system and Apple CarPlay. The sound system has eight speakers, and the Core has four USB-C charging ports.

The Plus is the mid-level trim. This model adds LED fog lights and a panoramic moonroof. It has more versatility in the seating area as well, with a power-adjustable front passenger seat and power-folding headrests in the back row.

The Ultimate is the top trim level. This trim has 20-inch wheels and heated seats in both rows. A heated steering wheel is standard, and the heating system uses a heat pump to deliver heat throughout the cabin faster than a regular heating system. The sound system is replaced by a Harman Kardon system.

How Much Horsepower Does the 2024 XC40 Recharge Have?

The Volvo XC40 has two powertrain options this year.

The single-motor version uses one electric motor to produce up to 248 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. You can also get a dual-motor edition of the XC40 that uses two electric motors instead of one. This version increases power output to 402 horsepower and 494 pound-feet of torque.

The dual-motor configuration gets up to 254 miles of electric range, and the single-motor version gets 293 miles of range.

What Safety Features Does the 2024 XC40 Recharge Include?

The Volvo's standard safety technology includes lane departure mitigation, collision mitigation braking, and blind-spot warning with rear-cross traffic alert.
